Life Insurance Quotes

Thursday September 10thLife Insurance Category

Everyone’s head that old saying, “Live everyday like it was your last.” Hopefully, this doesn’t literally occur, but life is short, considering that people die everyday. In the case that one of those people is a member of our family, knock on wood, or even ourselves, the immediate thought that would come to mind is life insurance.

There are tons of commercials on TV about people who pass away suddenly with no life insurance, and leave their families stranded with the bills. There are also those “true story” commercials, which feature a family who actually did have life insurance when an unexpected accident occurred, and it was the best choice that they could have made. These storylines pull at our heartstrings, as they are meant to, and get us thinking about what would happen if we were in that situation.

Many people are unaware that life insurance quotes are extremely simple to come by and very inexpensive, depending on the person. A good life insurance policy should cover funeral and burial expenses, estate taxes, the balance of your mortgage and any other unpaid debts, income loss, and a college fund if you have children. Using the Internet and a third party agent, you can add in any extra needs that you as an individual have, and establish what is affordable for you.

You can obtain some form of life insurance for around $25 a month. It may not be the extensive, detailed coverage that you would want in the event of your actual death, but something is always better than nothing. You premium may of course be higher than average based on your age, which makes it wise to purchase life insurance at a young age for a low, fixed premium rate. Location can affect rates as well, which can’t really be helped unless you plan on moving. Lifestyle is a big factor here too. Being a smoker, inactive, or having a bad history of health problems is likely to make your premiums higher.

In general, people who don’t have a life insurance policy either haven’t really looked into it, or believe that their money is better spent on immediate expenses, rather than the future. This is especially the case with younger adults, who feel that they won’t truly ever use the insurance, and therefore the money is just being given away for nothing. We all certainly hope that we will never have to use the life insurance policy, but as another old saying goes, “better safe than sorry”.
